Root Canal Therapy
In the center of all teeth is the nerve or pulp of the tooth. Dr. Woody likes to call this area the core of the apple. For a variety of reasons including deep decay or a cracked tooth, the nerve or pulp can become injured, infected or even die - a root canal could then be needed.
A root canal is a procedure that will remove the injured or infected pulp of the tooth. This will create a healthy enviroment inside of the tooth and allow the patient to save the tooth rather than having to extract it.
*In some cases the patient will need to be referred to an endodontist (a root canal specialist).
Patient education library includes information on various topics ranging from dental care to oral health problems.
